“We received a last-minute commercial bid request on a Friday at 5 PM…”
Friday, 5 PM: A huge commercial bid request lands in their inbox. By Monday, they need to deliver a full 250-page offer and documentation. Can this small home automation team pull it off — and win the deal? Find out in Intelicasa’s story.
Who we are
As a small team in the home automation field, finding the right tools to simplify our daily work is crucial. I’m the co-founder, and while I have an engineering degree, I’ve always leaned more towards sales. That’s why I put strong emphasis on finding the best value-for-money solutions for our team

What wasn’t working
Creating an offer was rather painful for us.
We mainly used Excel and Canva to create something that looked more professional — but it took days. Manually searching for prices, building formulas, estimating labor… and then constantly going back to update the results took hours again. And when I showed it to the customer? They didn’t get it. No visuals, just numbers on a spreadsheet. This was already a challenge for conventional electrical projects — but with Loxone, a premium system, it was almost impossible to convince anyone based on plain text alone.
The solution
During a Loxone training course, someone mentioned uplan as a software for Loxone installers. After checking it out, I saw that it’s not only useful for Loxone but for conventional projects as well. We signed up for an annual plan — it seemed worth it.
The difference in our workflow was immediate: an offer that used to take two days now takes just 45 minutes. It was a game-changer for our team.
And the visuals? Not even comparable to Excel or Canva. Now they’re clear, visual, and help clients actually picture the installation. Once, we created a 250-page offer over a single weekend — complete with floor plans and product details. The client was blown away.
Another feature I really like is the Wizard. Once I add the rooms, everything is set up automatically — giving me a clear structure and a fresh perspective on the entire project. And it’s not just the software — the support matters too. While most software companies rely on AI for customer support, I really appreciated that one of your colleagues jumped on a call with me at the beginning and walked me through everything. That personal support made a big difference.
Putting uplan to the test
We received a last-minute commercial bid request on a Friday at 5 PM. The client needed a full, professional offer by Monday noon. Before uplan, that would’ve taken us two weeks. We wouldn’t have had a chance.
But because everything was in one place – room layouts, product database, automation logic, we pulled it off in under 48 hours. That kind of speed and professionalism impressed the client and won us the project.

Who should definitely use uplan?
If you’re in the home automation industry, uplan is definitely for you. It saves you a lot of time. For beginners, it’s like a fast and intuitive guardian angel. It helps you present ideas clearly, work more efficiently, and deliver projects faster.
